# Cellular Signal Strength Guidelines

The Sensorbee Cellular Air series utilizes specific sensitivity thresholds depending on the network protocol used. Understanding these metrics helps ensure optimal device placement and connectivity

#### Receiver Sensitivity

The following values represent the Typical Maximum Sensitivity (RSRP) for Sensorbee devices:

#### Understanding RSRP

In the Sensorbee Cloud, the connection between a device and a cellular tower is represented by a metric called Signal Strength, technically known as RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power).

* **Definition:** RSRP estimates the average received power of reference signals within a cell.
* **Purpose:** It is used by both devices and base stations to determine connection quality and manage handovers between towers.
* **Measurement:** RSRP is measured in dBm (decibels referenced to 1 milliwatt).
* **Logarithmic Scaling**: Because dBm is logarithmic, a 3 dB increase doubles the power, while a 10 dB increase represents a tenfold increase in power

#### Signal Strength Interpretation

Use the following table as a general guide for interpreting RSRP values reported by your devices:
